Volkswagen Tiguan vs Volkswagen Tiguan Limited

December 8th, 2017 by

While we are just excited as you are about the new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan model with available third-row seats, we also think another new VW Tiguan model got a little overlooked and may be a great fit for many of our customers. The new model is called the 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Limited.

The 2017 model year can be a little confusing for car shoppers who have seen new 2018 models streaming into dealerships. However, it is in fact new and started arriving at the end of summer. We still aren’t sure if there will be a VW Tiguan Limited model for 2018 or if this is a special model reserved just for the 2017 model year.

The 2017 VW Tiguan Limited is aimed at budget-conscious VW shoppers and offers a Tiguan option with limited features at a smaller price tag. The 2017 VW Tiguan Limited rests on the old Tiguan platform and doesn’t offer the increased length or optional third-row of the new Tiguan model. It comes in just one trim level with fairly basic features and a starting MSRP of $21,995. There are two optional packages that offer some feature upgrades like AWD that adds value while still keeping the price point well below traditional Tiguan models.

Will there be a VW Tiguan Limited model for 2018?

Well, this one is still up in the air. We have heard rumors of a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Limited model but they have yet to be confirmed by Volkswagen. If there is a 2018 model, car shoppers can expect that it will be very similar to the 2017 VW Tiguan Limited in platform, size, and feature offerings.
